This one of a kind baseball glove strap was made from a vintage Bob Shaw autograph baseball glove. Bob Shaw was a right-handed pitcher, who played Major League Baseball on seven teams for 11 seasons, from 1957 to 1967. In 1962, he was a National League (NL) All-Star player. In 1966, he led all National League pitchers with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. The teams he played for were Detroit Tigers (1957–1958), Chicago White Sox (1958–1961), Kansas City Athletics (1961), Milwaukee Braves (1962–1963), San Francisco Giants (1964–1966), New York Mets (1966–1967), Chicago Cubs (1967)
This baseball glove strap measures 22mm (no taper), 76 mm x 127 mm x ~3.7 mm thick. I hand stitched this strap with blue Tiger thread, the best waxed synthetic thread available. This strap features the “Bob Shaw” autograph on the long side and the “Spalding” logo on the short side. The strap comes with one floating keeper “Form Pocket”. The first hole is 50mm from the lug. Extra holes can be punched upon request.
The strap comes with a custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style stainless steel buckle. I also have custom Mott bronze and black PVD buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge. If not specified, the strap will ship with the buckle as shown.
Sizing: Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick. If you’re on the fence, I can try the strap on one of my watches. If you’re still not sure, I’d suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap.
Most of my straps will also work with Apple watches. I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance. Please ask before purchasing.
