Can I send you my glove to make a strap?
No. The glove you have has history. I know that’s why you want to use your glove for a strap, but truthfully, I don’t want the stress of cutting up something so personal to you.
Can you I send you my glove that isn’t so personal?
Good try. No, I prefer not to. It’s tricky to figure out what length and strap width I can make from a glove even when it’s disassembled. I don’t want to cut up your glove then realize I can’t make the strap you’re looking for.
Can you make me a strap from a certain player?
Maybe. Do a quick search to see if an autograph glove was made for that player. Ebay is a good source - it’s where I get most of my gloves.
Can you make me a custom strap?
Usually. Let’s start with the glove and the size you need and I’ll let you know if a glove I have will work for you.
What is the cost of a custom strap?
The cost of a custom glove strap will be higher depending on the cost of the glove and if the glove is in stock.
The cost of a custom leather or canvas strap is the $10 more than a pre-made strap.
What size strap do I need?
Gloves straps tend to be thicker, so you’ll need a slightly bigger strap if the thickness is more than 4.5 mm. The easiest thing to do is measure (in millimeters) a strap that fits you well, on the watch you’ll wear the glove strap. A standard length strap from Panerai for instance is 115/75, meaning the long size is 115 mm and 75 mm on the short side. These straps not only are tapered, they also get thinner from the lug to the tip.
Do you make tapered straps?
No. Glove straps are thicker than normal. Tapered straps would look funny in my opinion. Even on non-glove straps, no. I don’t have punches to cut a tapered strap perfectly, therefore, they always look off to me.
Will your straps fit an Apple watch?
Most of the time my straps will fit Apple Watches using adapters. The clearance/space between the adapters is tight, so it’s best for me to test fit adapters before purchasing. I don’t own an Apple Watch, but this is what the interwebs say for strap sizes:
22mm straps for Apple Watch 38, 40, 41
24mm straps for Apple Watch 42, 44, 45, 49
