Up for sale is an all handmade 22mm Baseball Glove Watch Strap.
The glove used for this strap was a vintage Dick Groat Made in the USA Rawlings baseball glove. Groat was an American professional baseball and basketball player who was an eight-time All-Star shortstop and two-time World Series champion in Major League Baseball. He rates as one of the most accomplished two-sport athletes in American sports history, a college All American in baseball and basketball as well as one of only 13 to play both at the professional level. He was an NL MVP and batting champion in 1960, an 8 time All Star and is in the Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Fame.
This baseball/softball glove strap measures 22mm (no taper), 84 mm x 133 mm x ~3.5 mm thick. I hand stitched this strap with black Tiger thread - the best waxed synthetic thread available.
This strap features “Deep Well Pocket” on the short side and the “Dick Groat” autograph on the long side. The strap comes with one floating keeper, “Rawlings”. The first hole is 55mm from the lug. Normally I start at 50mm, but wanted to avoid a little of the autograph in this case. Extra holes can be punched upon request.
The strap comes with a custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style stainless steel buckle. I also have custom Mott bronze and black PVD buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge. If not specified, the strap will ship with the buckle as shown.
Sizing: Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick. If you’re on the fence, I can try the strap on one of my watches. If you’re still not sure, I’d suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap.
Most of my straps will also work with Apple watches. I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance. Please ask before purchasing.
