22mm Jim Catfish Hunter Handmade Baseball Glove Watch Strap Omega Panerai 82/133

$150.00

Up for sale is an all handmade 22mm Baseball Glove Watch Strap.

This one of a kind baseball glove strap was made from a Wilson Jim “Catfish” Hunter autograph baseball glove.  Jim "Catfish" Hunter was a pitcher who played in MLB from 1965 to 1979 for the Kansas City / Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees.  Hunter is the only pitcher since 1915 to win 200 games by age 31.  He is often referred to as baseball's first big-money free agent, and was a member of five World Series championship teams.  Catfish was also an 8 time All Star, won the Cy Young in 1974, and his #27 is retired and is in the Athletics Hall of Fame.

This baseball glove strap measures 22mm (no taper), 82 mm x 133 mm x ~4.3 mm thick.   I hand stitched this strap with green Tiger thread, the best waxed synthetic thread available.  This strap features the “Jim Catfish Hunter” autograph on the long side and the “Nylon Stitched” logo on the short side.  The strap comes with one floating keeper with the “Wilson” logo.  The first hole is 50mm from the lug.  Extra holes can be punched upon request.

The strap comes with a custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style stainless steel buckle.  I also have custom Mott bronze and black PVD buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge.  If not specified, the strap will ship with the buckle as shown.

Sizing:  Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick.  If you’re on the fence, I can try the strap on one of my watches.  If you’re still not sure, I’d suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap.

Most of my straps will also work with Apple watches.  I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance.  Please ask before purchasing.

Why Baseball Glove Straps?

Baseball gloves are soft, thick and only get better with time. What better material to make into a watch strap?! The glove and thus the strap is soft yet durable and has acquired patina and character during its lifetime.

The strap is made 100% from the glove it came from, making each strap a limited edition!  Mott Straps is the only strap maker using the glove for the entire strap - even the bottom layer.  You get the look and the feel of a baseball glove with a Mott Strap.

The softness of glove leather makes the thickness work well on any watch, but especially with larger watches such as Panerai, Kaventsmann, Ennebi, Omega, etc.
