22mm Pete Rose Handmade Baseball Glove Watch Strap Reds Panerai Omega 75/126
Up for sale is an all handmade 22mm Baseball Glove Watch Strap.
The baseball glove used for this handmade leather watch strap was a Pete Rose autograph glove. Pete Rose, aka "Charlie Hustle", played in Major League Baseball from 1963 to 1986, most prominently as a member of the Cincinnati Reds lineup known as the Big Red Machine for their dominance of the National League in the 1970s. Rose was a switch hitter and is MLB's all-time leader in hits (4,256), games played (3,562), at-bats (14,053), singles (3,215), and outs (10,328) He won three World Series championships, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Glove Awards, and the Rookie of the Year Award. He made 17 All-Star appearances in an unequaled five positions (second baseman, left fielder, right fielder, third baseman, and first baseman). He won two Gold Glove Awards when he was an outfielder, in 1969 and 1970. He also has the third longest hit streak in MLB history at 44, and remains the last player to hit safely in 40 or more consecutive games.
This baseball glove strap measures 22mm (no taper), 75 mm x 126 mm x ~4.6 mm thick. I hand stitched this strap with red Tiger thread - the best waxed synthetic thread available.
This strap features “Lite Flex” on the short side and the “Pete Rose” autograph on the long side. The strap comes with one floating keeper, “Record Holder PR4192”. The first hole is 50mm from the lug. Extra holes can be punched upon request.
The strap comes with a custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style stainless steel buckle. I also have custom Mott bronze and black PVD buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge. If not specified, the strap will ship with the buckle as shown.
Sizing: Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick. If you’re on the fence, I can try the strap on one of my watches. If you’re still not sure, I’d suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap.
Most of my straps will also work with Apple watches. I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance. Please ask before purchasing.
Why Baseball Glove Straps?
Baseball gloves are soft, thick and only get better with time. What better material to make into a watch strap?! The glove and thus the strap is soft yet durable and has acquired patina and character during its lifetime.
The strap is made 100% from the glove it came from, making each strap a limited edition! Mott Straps is the only strap maker using the glove for the entire strap - even the bottom layer. You get the look and the feel of a baseball glove with a Mott Strap.
The softness of glove leather makes the thickness work well on any watch, but especially with larger watches such as Panerai, Kaventsmann, Ennebi, Omega, etc.
