22mm Ted Williams Handmade Baseball Glove Watch Strap Red Sox Panerai 76/123 Bronze
Up for sale is an all handmade 22mm Baseball Glove Watch Strap.
This one of a kind baseball glove strap was made from a Ted Williams autograph baseball glove. Williams played his entire 19-year Major League Baseball career, primarily as a left fielder, for the Boston Red Sox from 1939 to 1960; his career was interrupted by military service during World War II and the Korean War. Among his many highlights, he was a 19x All Star, 2x AL MVP, 2x Triple Crown winner, 6x Batting Champion, member of the Red Sox and Padres Hall of Fame and part of the MLB All Century Team. Did I mention his career was interrupted by serving in the military?
This baseball glove strap measures 22mm (no taper), 76 mm x 123 mm x ~4.0 mm thick. I hand stitched this strap with gold waxed synthetic thread. This strap features the “Ted Williams” autograph on the long side and the “Pro Style” logo on the short side. The strap comes with one floating keeper with the “Nylon Stitched” logo. The first hole is 50mm from the lug. Extra holes can be punched upon request.
The strap comes with a custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style bronze buckle. I also have custom Mott stainless steel and black PVD buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge. If not specified, the strap will ship with the buckle as shown.
Sizing: Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick. If you’re on the fence, I can try the strap on one of my watches. If you’re still not sure, I’d suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap.
Most of my straps will also work with Apple watches. I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance. Please ask before purchasing.
Why Baseball Glove Straps?
Baseball gloves are soft, thick and only get better with time. What better material to make into a watch strap?! The glove and thus the strap is soft yet durable and has acquired patina and character during its lifetime.
The strap is made 100% from the glove it came from, making each strap a limited edition! Mott Straps is the only strap maker using the glove for the entire strap - even the bottom layer. You get the look and the feel of a baseball glove with a Mott Strap.
The softness of glove leather makes the thickness work well on any watch, but especially with larger watches such as Panerai, Kaventsmann, Ennebi, Omega, etc.
