24mm Tom Seaver Baseball Glove Watch Strap Panerai Ennebi Omega NY Mets ~82/128
Up for sale is an all handmade 24mm Baseball Glove Watch Strap.
The glove used for this strap was a Spalding, Tom Seaver baseball glove. Seaver was nicknamed "Tom Terrific" and "the Franchise", was an American professional baseball pitcher who played 20 seasons in Major League Baseball. He played for the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox, and Boston Red Sox from 1967 to 1986. Among his many highlights (see pics), Seaver was a 12 time All Star, 3 time Cy young winner and is in the Mets and Reds Hall of Fame. His #41 is retired by the Mets as well.
This baseball glove strap measures 24mm (no taper), 82 mm x 128 mm x ~4.5 mm thick. I hand stitched this strap with blue Tiger thread - the best waxed synthetic thread available.
This strap features the Eagle logo on the short side and the “Tom Seaver” autograph on the long side. The strap comes with one floating keeper “Top Grain Leather). The first hole is 50mm from the lug end. Extra holes can be punched upon request.
The strap comes with a custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style stainless steel buckle. I also have custom Mott bronze and black PVD buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge. If not specified, the strap will ship with the buckle as shown.
Sizing: Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick. If you’re on the fence, I can try the strap on one of my watches. If you’re still not sure, I’d suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap.
Most of my straps will also work with Apple watches. I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance. Please ask before purchasing.
Why Baseball Glove Straps?
Baseball gloves are soft, thick and only get better with time. What better material to make into a watch strap?! The glove and thus the strap is soft yet durable and has acquired patina and character during its lifetime.
The strap is made 100% from the glove it came from, making each strap a limited edition! Mott Straps is the only strap maker using the glove for the entire strap - even the bottom layer. You get the look and the feel of a baseball glove with a Mott Strap.
The softness of glove leather makes the thickness work well on any watch, but especially with larger watches such as Panerai, Kaventsmann, Ennebi, Omega, etc.
