26mm Big Klu No Logo Handmade Baseball Glove Watch Strap Reds Panerai 74/125

$125.00

Up for sale is an all handmade 26mm Baseball Glove Watch Strap.

The baseball glove used for this handmade leather watch strap was a vintage Big Klu first baseman’s glove.  "Big Klu" refers to Ted Kluszewski, a powerful left-handed first baseman known for his time with the Cincinnati Reds in the 1950s and his iconic sleeveless jersey. He is famous for his bulging biceps, which led him to cut the sleeves off his uniform so he could swing freely. He was a four-time All-Star, a prolific home run hitter (279 career HRs), and had several seasons with over 40 home runs while striking out fewer than 40 times.

This baseball glove strap measures 26mm (no taper), 74 mm x 125 mm x ~5.0 mm thick.   I hand stitched this strap with black Tiger thread - the best waxed synthetic thread available.

The glove for this strap featured nearly no logos.  The buckle side had what is probably the maker of the glove. I couldn’t figure out what it was. The “Big Klu” was used for the keeper and there are some faint words going across the long side from where it said “Major League Model”.  The first hole was punched at 50mm from the lug.  Extra holes can be punched upon request.

The strap comes with a custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style stainless steel buckle.  I also have custom Mott bronze and black PVD buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge.  If not specified, the strap will ship with the buckle as shown.

Sizing:  Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick.  If you’re on the fence, I can try the strap on one of my watches.  If you’re still not sure, I’d suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap.

Most of my straps will also work with Apple watches.  I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance.  Please ask before purchasing.

Why Baseball Glove Straps?

Baseball gloves are soft, thick and only get better with time. What better material to make into a watch strap?! The glove and thus the strap is soft yet durable and has acquired patina and character during its lifetime.

The strap is made 100% from the glove it came from, making each strap a limited edition!  Mott Straps is the only strap maker using the glove for the entire strap - even the bottom layer.  You get the look and the feel of a baseball glove with a Mott Strap.

The softness of glove leather makes the thickness work well on any watch, but especially with larger watches such as Panerai, Kaventsmann, Ennebi, Omega, etc.
