26mm Carlton Fisk Handmade Baseball Glove Watch Strap Panerai Red Sox 81/133

$150.00

Up for sale is an all handmade 26mm Baseball Glove Watch Strap.

The glove used for this strap was a super soft Carlton Fisk catcher’s mitt/baseball glove.  Carlton Fisk, nicknamed "Pudge" and "the Commander", is an American former professional baseball catcher who played 24 seasons in Major League Baseball for the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox. In 1972, he was the first player to be unanimously voted American League Rookie of the Year.  Fisk is best known for his game winning home run in the 12th inning of Game 6 of the 1975 World Series, during which he memorably waved his arms hoping for the batted ball to remain fair.  He has his number retired by the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox and is in the Red Sox Hall of Fame.

This baseball/softball glove strap measures 22mm (no taper), 81 mm x 133 mm x ~5.0 mm thick.   I hand stitched this strap with red Tiger thread - the best waxed synthetic thread available.

This strap features “Wilson A2514” on the short side and the “Carlton Fisk” autograph on the long side.  The strap comes with two floating keepers, “Twin” and “Action”.   The first hole is 50mm from the lug.  Extra holes can be punched upon request.

The strap comes with a custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style stainless steel buckle.  I also have custom Mott bronze and black PVD buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge.  If not specified, the strap will ship with the buckle as shown.

Sizing:  Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick.  If you’re on the fence, I can try the strap on one of my watches.  If you’re still not sure, I’d suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap.

Most of my straps will also work with Apple watches.  I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance.  Please ask before purchasing.

Why Baseball Glove Straps?

Baseball gloves are soft, thick and only get better with time. What better material to make into a watch strap?! The glove and thus the strap is soft yet durable and has acquired patina and character during its lifetime.

The strap is made 100% from the glove it came from, making each strap a limited edition!  Mott Straps is the only strap maker using the glove for the entire strap - even the bottom layer.  You get the look and the feel of a baseball glove with a Mott Strap.

The softness of glove leather makes the thickness work well on any watch, but especially with larger watches such as Panerai, Kaventsmann, Ennebi, Omega, etc.
