Baseball Glove Leather Coasters Handmade Set of Four: Yankees Mickey Mantle, Jackson, Whitey Ford, George Scott

$165.00

Up for sale is a set of 4 handmade leather coasters made from baseball gloves made by me, Mott Straps.

Each handmade coaster is made from one glove, preserving the unique designs, logos, and patina it gained over a lifetime—making every coaster one of one.

This set of baseball glove coasters includes coasters featuring players from the New York Yankees: Mickey Mantle, Reggie Jackson, Whitey Ford and George Scott (only 1 year, but still…).  I believe that the Mantle and Jackson gloves were owned by the same kid, as he wrote all over them!  Each coaster is ~ 3 7/8” square.

In the past, I’ve only made these coasters for friends and family because it’s fairly costly and time consuming.  To make each coaster, the glove is taken apart by hand, cleaned and conditioned, the old glue is scraped from the leather, then it’s glued to suede, cut to shape, sanded, stitched, and finished with smooth, burnished edges.  All by hand.

After years of prodding, I am now offering these for sale.  As with all handmade products, especially something this unique - if you like it, buy it.  There won’t ever be another one that’s the same.
